Welcome to Rustie! This is a space for anyone who grew up loving Groovy Chick, Jacqueline Wilson books, Hannah Montana, and all the bright, bold nostalgia of a 90s/00s childhood. In a world that’s become increasingly minimalistic and muted, I wanted to create joyful, colourful pieces that brighten everyday life.

Rustie is a combination of my surname, “Rusted,” and my middle name, “Marie” to create a brand that’s 100% me and everything I love. Every item is handmade in my Liverpool spare-room studio often using fabrics and sewing treasures gifted by family and friends or collected over the years. I’ve been sewing since college, making gifts for loved ones, but it was creating hair accessories for myself during my time working in theatre that truly inspired this business. In a job where I had to wear black, a scrunchie became my little burst of colour and joy whilst remaining practical and full of personality.
